Tech. Coaching. Climate. Leadership.

With a background in science and climate policy, combined with over two decades of experience across government, nonprofit, and tech sectors, I bring a global perspective from living and working in Canada, the UK, and the United States.

I co-founded Groundwork, a climate tech leadership learning circle, and serve as a Faculty Coach at the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute. As the founder of Aurita Coaching & Consulting, I partner with tech initiatives at scale and coach leaders to drive impactful change.

My journey in tech

After finishing a role at the Sierra Club back in 2014 and realizing that software was an interesting tool to help scale and accelerate climate solutions. I was one of the first members of Women Who Code and began learning my way into a role as a Program Manager at DocuSign. There, I was often called in as a “pinch-hitter,” moving between engineering teams every six months to improve predictability, productivity, and scalability. This experience laid the foundation for everything that followed.

My track record was impressive, and I moved on to pursue a larger role at a tech non-profit, TechSoup, reporting to the VP of Engineering and then the CEO. There I learned about external stakeholder management, business, and engineering roadmap alignment. When I left to join Fastly, I started as an individual Senior Technical Program Manager and then built a TPM team from the ground up, developed an OKR-planning process, and drove cross-functional communication and best practices. By the time I joined Postscript.io as Chief of Staff to the CEO, I had become a Certified Executive Coach, a mentor for BIPOC women, and a mom of two.

Executive Coaching

During my time as Director of Technical Program Management at Fastly, I was assigned an Executive Coach who recognized my natural coaching abilities. She encouraged me to pursue formal training, saying, "You should be doing this." That simple suggestion transformed my leadership approach and problem-solving skills in ways I never anticipated. I was invited as a Faculty Coach at the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute and now mentor and certify students in their programs. I also serve as a Business Coach at various organizations, including net-zero initiatives and universities. Coaching has since become a core aspect of how I work and live. One of my greatest joys is helping others unlock their genius.

Nisha - the person

I’m deeply passionate about tech, sustainability, and DEIJB, having led company-wide initiatives at Fastly and Postscript.io. My academic credentials include a BSc in Physics from the University of Calgary and a Master of Laws in Environmental Law and Policy from the University of Kent, Canterbury. I’m also a Climatebase Founding Fellow, with specialized training in Corporate Sustainability and human-centered and de-colonial design through programs like One Point Five Academy and Reimagining Research with pause + effect.

My coaching, tech expertise, and leadership are central to my work, and I’m frequently invited to share insights at the intersection of business, innovation, and climate.

I’m currently based in Victoria, Canada, where I live with my family. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me exploring the woods or skipping stones in the sea.
